Abstract: The growing development of information and communication technologies has provided valuable tools and applications to agri-businesses, facilitating them to improve their adaptability and viability. However, the diffusion of these tools and applications in the agri-food sector is relatively low, and the Greek medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) sector does not constitute an exception. The main objective of this paper is to size up the internal and external environment of the Greek MAPs sector, suggesting strategies that will contribute to the valorisation of its potential, as well as to provide an overview of the e-commerce tools and applications (EcTA) used by Greek MAPs businesses. One of the main findings of the analysis of 59 Greek MAPs businesses with web presence was that they generally prefer to use low cost EcTA. The results of this study combined with further research about the impact of these EcTA on businesses profitability could be a useful guide not only for newcomers but also for existing businesses to make the right decisions regarding the implementation of appropriate strategies and the integration of EcTA.
