Abstract: For health authorities to effectively manage nursing facilities and intensive care operations, it is essential to estimate the duration of bed usage for treatment. The aim of the study is to model the relationship between the treatment duration and the personal characteristics, symptoms and underlying diseases of the patients infected with COVID-19. A step-wise regression model has been developed for this purpose, and the results indicate that 'age' has a significant effect on the bed-use for treatment duration for patients requiring intensive care. Statistically, four types of regression models including linear, polynomial, exponential, and power-based have been developed and the exponential model is best fit for patients older than 20 years. Research does not support that treatment duration is based on symptoms and underlying diseases, allowing health service managers to estimate the duration of treatment based just on the patient's age.
