Abstract: Due to the rising pressures of sustainable development and depletion of natural resources, innovation has become indispensable to resolve the global challenges. Nonetheless, innovation may not be always responsible. Though responsible innovation is gaining popularity, there has been a dearth of research in this area. To provide a comprehensive view on business practices, this paper proposes a conceptual framework that may enhance corporate responsible innovation through the integration of resource-based view and dynamic capabilities. Following an in-depth review of the literature, three propositions were made to better understand the various dimensions of intellectual capital (human, structural, and relational capital) that may influence an organisation's willingness to participate in corporate responsible innovation. Thus, this paper highlights the significance of corporate responsible innovation and offers insightful advice on how companies might leverage their intellectual capital to engage in corporate responsible innovation. Overall, this paper offers theoretical and practical implications in charting future directions for corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
