Abstract: The digital economy is playing an increasingly more important role in the economy and society as a whole, and is becoming an important driving force for high-quality economic development in China. The digital economy is reconstructing and reshaping the relationships and inter-connections in the quality of express industry development in China. However, there remains a lack of research on the impact of the express industry development and the digital economy. In this study, we used the spatial Dubin model (SDM) to analyse the impact of the digital economy on the quality of the express industry development from 2012 to 2020 in China. The results show that there is a significant spatial correlation between the digital economy and the quality of the express industry development in China. The digital economy was found to have positive and direct effects on the quality of the express industry and its development. The indirect effects of the digital economy in different regions on the quality of the express industry are different in China. The research findings provide a useful reference for the quality of express industry development as it relates to the digital economy.
