Impact of core functional competencies on success of manufacturing sector: literature review

Abstract: Core functional competencies have significant effect on the performance of the manufacturing sector as surveyed in the review. These help the firm to stand with the competition in the market by providing innovation in various aspects which are directly or indirectly related to competencies. In this paper previous year's papers have been surveyed to know about the competency based concepts in manufacturing industries. These are related to different aspects like overall performance of firm, management activities being carried out, working culture of the organisation, products and service related tasks and quality of the products. The survey may help to further studies related to core functional competencies. Different types of competencies under core functional competencies can be implemented for the studies.
