Abstract: To analyse the heat transfer in a louver fin radiator, a 3D Semi-microscopic Heat Exchange (SHE) Method is developed. The SHE method is characterised by a conjugate heat transfer analysis for the domain composed of coolant water in a tube, tube wall, louver fin region and ambient air. The louver fin region is modelled by the two separate air and solid porous media occupying the same space. The temperature differences in these two porous media are used to determine the local heat flux by means of modelled heat transfer coefficient. The results of the SHE method showed good agreements with the experimental data.
