Abstract: The addition of scandium in Al-Mg alloys forms a LI2 phase, Al3Sc, which precipitates coherently. The ability of Al3Sc precipitates to stabilise the substructures envisages the use of strain hardening for enhancement of mechanical properties of the alloy. Al3Zr phase possess similar crystal structure as that of Al3Sc. Hence the present study aims to address the influence of quaternary addition of zirconium in Al-Mg-Sc alloys through Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models. The effect of composition and ageing parameters on the variation of tensile properties for Zr added Al-Mg-Sc alloys is successfully predicted by ANN technique.
