Abstract: Resorcinole and phenols form polymeric compounds in 70% HClO4, solutions. These polymers are insoluble in HCl04, and their formation may take several months. Due to different degrees of polymerisation several products were identified by chromatographic methods in both resorcinole and phenol-HClO4 systems.
