Abstract: This paper attempts to highlight the growth and development of fusion engineering literature as per the Web of Science (WoS) database during 1991-October 2010 and make the quantitative and qualitative assessments by way of analysing various features of research output such as year-wise distribution of publications and citations, publication growth rate, country-wise distribution of publications, co-authorship index, institutional productivity, international collaboration, distribution of publications and citations in various domains of fusion engineering, domain-wise activity index, collaboration pattern and extent of citations, identification of highly cited publications, language-wise distribution of publications and citations, journals preferred for publication by the scientists, quality of research output and analysis of keywords.
