Abstract: Comprehensive performance evaluation criteria for enhanced duct in comparison with smooth duct subjected to constant wall heat flux have been proposed under various design constraints. The net profit value (NPV) and the total cost value (TCV) have been derived from the perspectives of exergy recovery and exergy destruction respectively. By taking spirally corrugated duct as an example, the evaluation results reveal that the exergo-economic performance of enhanced duct is inconsistent from different perspectives under various design constraints and largely dependent on Reynolds number (Rea) and dimensionless wall heat flux (Nq).
