Abstract: During the last decade and a half Asian countries such as China and India have experienced a major shift in business paradigms. Under the circumstance, it is important to provide a definite direction for optimal utilisation of human resources through appropriate leadership. This is viewed as a major factor to obtain excellence of organisational performance. In this connection, the present paper focuses on four key behavioural constructs that is, transformational leadership, job involvement, organisational commitment, and organisational citizenship behaviour, and also studies the implications of their mutual interaction. For the purpose of the study, data were collected from 357 Indian managerial executives. The responses were subjected to multivariate data analysis using statistical software such as, SPSS 16.0 and AMOS 16.0. Subsequently, the results and their theoretical and practical implications were presented. In conclusion, an allusion of this study towards the field of HRM in India has also been made.
