Abstract: In this paper, we present a personalised environment that is used within a folklore museum. The system is called VAMOS and uses video for presenting the exhibits of the museum. In order to personalise interaction and select the most appropriate video, VAMOS uses a double stereotype system in combination with a multi-criteria decision-making theory called TOPSIS. The effectiveness of the proposed approach has been evaluated with the participation of real users by comparing VAMOS with a similar non-adaptive version of the system. For the combination of the different criteria we have used the TOPSIS theory and the results revealed that users preferred the adaptive version of the system as the videos were tailored to their knowledge and interests.
