Abstract: Human resource (HR) practitioners all over the world face several challenges nowadays due to the rapid changes of the global environment. Stakeholder groups demand more and more from HR and have higher expectations of HR than in the past. In order to respond to these needs and expectations, HR practitioners must have high levels of competency and be able to perform at a standard beyond the expectations. One way to ensure that HR practitioners have the required competency and are able to perform beyond the needs and expectations is to pass the professional standards examination in order to become a certified HR professional. This paper aims to present the system and processes of HR professional certification in Thailand. The essential content of this paper comprises the concept of professional certification in general, HR professional certification, HR professional certification in Thailand, the results of HR professional certification in Thailand, as well as conclusions and recommendations.
