Learning and capability building in industrialising economies: a critical note

Abstract: This article develops a brief reflection on some of the challenges that lie ahead in the field of research on learning and technological capability building within companies in industrialising economies. One of the key challenges in this field is the need to widen the focus of analysis on how companies respond to and affect economic institutions and incentives under global competition pressures on open economies.
